Civil Project Engineer


Position Description:

Qualified candidates will work independently with clients to plan, design and manage the construction of a wide variety of civil engineering projects.  Other duties include: assisting President in establishing and meeting project deadlines and project budgets, review project billings with President, attending client and municipal meetings, assisting President in requesting fieldwork from surveyor and completing project reports, telephone records, letters, transmittals and billing reviews.

Specific Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
  • Current IL Professional Engineer registration (PE) is required. WI and/or IN a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience as a civil engineer with a focus on land development engineering design and construction is required.
  • Previous experience with the design and construction of sanitary and storm sewer systems and local road improvement projects.
  • Ability to follow through on tasks to completion, research and recommend solutions and collaborate with other team members.
  • Ability to understand and interpret local subdivision/zoning codes, ordinances, design manuals and review plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence, reports and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
  • Previous experience with MS Office applications and AutoCAD Civil3D is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally and work extended hours as needed.


Hours of Work:

The Civil Project Engineer is required to work between 40-55 hours per week depending on the workload.  The Civil Project Engineer must be at work between the core hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
